Neurology
The medical field of neurology deals with the study and treatment of disorders of the nervous system. It is a non-surgical specialty that is concerned with the diagnosis and management of the diseases associated with the central nervous system (involving the brain and spinal cord), peripheral nervous system (including the subdivisions, the autonomic and somatic nervous system), and their associated structures (i.e. blood vessels and their effecter tissues). The human nervous system is a complex and sophisticated organ system that regulates and directs all body activities. Disorders of the nervous system (stroke, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, etc.) can turn out to be fatal or can leave a person impaired for life
